Arson charge brought in Detroit firefighter death
Detroit, MI A 40-year-old man has been charged in death of a Detroit firefighter who died after the roof of a charred vacant house collapsed on him last year.

A 40-year-old man has been charged in death of a Detroit firefighter who died after the roof of a charred vacant house collapsed on him last year.
Darian Dove of Detroit was arrested and arraigned Friday on a charge of arson resulting in a homicide. No bond was set.
Thirty-eight-year-old Walter Harris helped put out the Nov. 15 fire on the city's east side and was extinguishing hot spots in the two-story home when the structure fell on him and others.
The Sterling Heights resident was a 19-year member of the department and a married father of six.
Detroit police Chief James Barren says Dove was initially arrested last month but released for lack of evidence. Police say Friday they're seeking other suspects and didn't know if Dove had a lawyer.
