Rep. John Dingell, the longest-serving current member of Congress, has been released from a Washington-area hospital.
Chief of Staff Michael Robbins says Dingell was released from Bethesda Naval Hospital Wednesday afternoon "after being treated for post surgical complications from his total knee replacement in late October."
The 82-year-old Dingell had been admitted to the hospital as a precautionary measure on Tuesday after feeling some discomfort.
Dingell is expected to return to work on Friday.
