After Republican presidential candidate John McCain halted his Michigan campaign last week, several attempts were made to lure in running mate Sarah Palin.

U.S. Rep. Joe Knollenberg sent a letter inviting her to campaign with him in Oakland County. A grassroots group called Fight for Michigan is trying to gather 100,000 signatures asking Palin to visit the state. And Republican activist Chuck Yob asked Palin to return.

All of which prompted an effort Wednesday by the state Democratic Party to collect signatures asking Palin look-alike Tina Fey of "Saturday Night Live" to visit Michigan.

Supporters can sign up on the party's Web site.

Fey has become a YouTube and late-night hit with her spoofing of the Alaska governor.

If Palin comes, she comes. If not, well, I wouldn't worry too badly. I hear McCain's trailing in the polls. Would you really want a candidate who conceeded your own state leading your country? I wouldn't and I don't care what McCain's excuses are. Money is his excuse but my idea is this. Michiganders aren't stupid enough to fall for his B.S.

I see you put a link up to the official democrat website on the big red bar. Where's the link to the official republican website? Fair is fair and it may be required by law, something about equal access or equal time. Has WNDU joined the "liberal" media?

It would not matter if she came or not. After Alaska releases reports scheduled for tomorrow, her popularity is going to take a hit. The judge did not stop the release. I can tell you the report will say her husband is extremely hands on in her running of Alaska and has way too much access to thing he should not.

You know this is just showing how ridiculous the Pre Election activities are getting... Michigan voters would love to hear from Palin and hear a targeted talk on how they are going to take Michigan from a Rust Belt into a productive State again...I know getting rid of Granholm would be a great first step...but "Joe Six Pack" not only wants but DESERVES to hear how someone is going to help preserve the job he has or hearing about new jobs that will support his family. Michigan asks the Republicans for Sarah Palin an unknown that has captured hope with her presence. Then the Democrats want to act like a damn bunch of idiots and invite someone that doesnt even impact the vote or any issue on quality of life. Its the type of actions that take place and they wonder why they have such small percentages when it comes to voting...neither party takes this stuff seriously...if they didn they would put in great choices instead of leaving us between a rock and a hard place on our votes.
