Two men have failed to overturn their convictions in the death of a Berrien County girl who was shot while taking a shower.
In 1996, Chrissy Satterfield was 16 when she was shot by someone standing on a trash can outside a Benton Township home.
It took nine years for authorities to charge Jeremiah Sims and Joshshan Childs. They were convicted in federal court of conspiracy to commit murder and sentenced to life in prison.
A federal appeals court Friday rejected challenges to evidence in their trials.
A third person, Carolyn Ross, was sentenced to nine years to 15 years in a Michigan prison for arranging the murder. Her case was handled in Berrien County Circuit Court.
The victim was Ross' husband's girlfriend.
