Hundreds of Michiana students with a knack for math and science showed off their skills Monday at Lake Michigan College.

42 teams from all across the region came to compete in the Adventist Robotics League Challenge.

The kids put together robots that had to perform various task in a limited amount of time.

And even though these students were competing, organizers say the event is also a fun way for kids to learn.

"Kids will be these robots and they get excited about learning and having fun. They don't know it, but they are really getting into math, physics, engineering, computer science, all packaged in one event and it's a blast," said event director, Bill Wolfer.

This is the 5th year for the event.

It was co-hosted by Andrews University and the Lake Union Conference of Seventh-Day Adventists.
