Sleet and snow has been a deadly mixture Monday night, after a 28 year-old mother has died in an accident.
It happened on US Highway 12 and Leet Road in Milton Township around 3:30 p.m. Monday.
Police say Ambrosia Foreman was driving a van with her three-year-old when she lost control and crashed into a snow plow nearly head on.
Foreman and her three-year-old, Camden John Foreman, were sent to Memorial Hospital where she was pronounced dead. The child reportedly had less severe injuries than his mother. No other information on his condition is available at this time
Michigan State Police are still investigating the crash.
The snow plow driver, Stephen Axline, was not injured.
Police ask that drivers remain vigilant while driving during winter weather temperatures near freezing and below. Snow-melt may freeze to the roadway and become ice. During winter driving conditions, allow extra time to reach your destination, leave early, leave extra following distance between vehicles, and reduce your speed.
