Survey shows many doctors lie to patients
If you suspect your doctor isn't being completely honest with you, you could be right. A new survey shows that some of them fib a lot.

If you suspect your doctor isn't being completely honest with you, you could be right. A new survey shows that some of them fib a lot.

More than half the doctors in a new survey admit they've given a patient prognosis that was rosier than it should be.

Nearly 20 percent said they weren't honest about a medical mistake, because they were afraid they'd be sued.

1-in-10 said they told a patient something in the past year that wasn't true.

Researchers behind the survey say they don't think doctors set out to be dishonest, and a lot of the lies could have been aimed at giving people hope.
