February marks Black History Month, and Clay High School Students Tuesday got a history lesson from the U.S. Army.
An Army Semi was parked right outside the school, and students got to go inside for an interactive experience.
A video featuring the achievements of African Americans throughout American history, was followed by discussion and even prizes for some students.
All this is in an effort to better engage students for Black History Month.
Mansour Eid, Principal Clay, explains how it holds the attention of everyone, “This truck has an interactive cutting edge technology, something that will hold the attention of the students and bring history alive.”
Jessica Frazier, Junior at Clay, describes how much they enjoyed the experience, “It was a great experience for some people to realize where they came from and that they can do great things, doesn't matter what their race is or their color.
Each class period, a new group of students got to take part in the experience.
