The Binder Park Zoo in southern Michigan has a new resident: An 11-year-old snow leopard that last lived in Indiana.
The Battle Creek Enquirer reports the zoo in Battle Creek got the male leopard named Tankh from the Potawatomi Zoo in South Bend in December.
The snow leopard will be on public display when Binder Park Zoo opens April 20. He's the new companion for Lotus, the zoo's 14-year-old female. The zoo says her former companion, Capron, died at Binder Park Zoo on Jan. 5 from age-related issues.
