The weather outside is frightful, but that could not keep area softball players off the diamond.
The 15th annual Corvilla Snowball Softball Tournament is being held this weekend at fields around Mishawaka.
Forty-two teams are participating in the event, which takes place no matter what the weather conditions are.
Program Director Diana Dolde says, “It's a fundraiser for Corvilla, but it's also a way for people and teams to come out really early in the year for some spring training. Last year, we had three feet of snow on the field. This year, we have no snow on the fields, but it's been 65, it's been sub-zero. We've had everything."
The event annually raises close to $9,000, all of which goes towards the needs of those at Corvilla.
