Michigan wines, fruits and vegetables could get a little more recognition soon.
Michigan Senator John Proos introduced a resolution Wednesday to encourage the expansion of Michigan's apple campaign to other state grown products.
Sen. Proos noted bringing attention to high quality products produced in Michigan could reward Michigan's economy.
In a statement he said, "The growth of farmers' markets has proven that there is interest in healthy, fresh foods in our community and throughout the country. This resolution would draw attention to the impact of agriculture on our economy and way of life and the goods we are producing right here in Southwest Michigan."
