Multi State Lottery Association officials increased Saturday's Powerball estimated jackpot to $325 million, which would pay the largest cash option in the history of the game.

The jackpot initially estimated at $310 million, but was raised due to increased sales. Jackpots represent a share of sales combined with any previous jackpots that were not won.

"Hey, you never know. A dollar and a dream, actually two dollars, I know it went up an extra buck, but why not?" said William Pena after purchasing three tickets.

Powerball recently doubled the price of a ticket to $2, while also improving odds of winning by reducing the number of "Powerballs".

"It's two bucks, chances are pretty much the same so I don't mind paying the extra buck. I don't play that often so if something like this in the $300's I'll pay the two bucks," said Pena.

Most lottery buyers purchased Quick Picks, computer selected numbers, but some standing on line at KB Express Mart used personal strategies to pick their own numbers.

"There's a group of seven or eight numbers I usually play. They're basically birthdays, anniversary dates and stuff like that," said Tom Pennell, who frequently buys tickets.

If no one purchases a ticket with the winning numbers, Wednesday's jackpot will be an estimated $415 million, the largest lottery jackpot in the country.
