Situated more than fifty miles from the shores of Lake Michigan, a Plymouth masseuse is bringing the beach to her clients.
Two months of around-the-clock work and a personal beach room washed in at the Healing Hands Massage Therapy Center in downtown Plymouth.
More than three tons of sand, dozens of blue paint cans, and a few Coronas have given way to total relaxation.
On Sunday afternoon, owner Lisa McFarland held an open house inside her new studio. It is the only local one of its kind.
McFarland says, "I want to offer to my clients, that can't afford to go on cruises or down to the Bahamas or Jamaica, the opportunity to come in here and see what it's like to get a massage on the beach."
Massages will come noise-free. The beach room is inside an old recording studio that is totally soundproof.
