Pet Refuge put on a fundraiser Saturday with Fazoli's to raise money for their low-cost spay and neuter clinic that is opening in June.
They raised more than $1,700 at the event.
Pet refuge has dozens of dogs and cats on hand and more coming in all the time.
With the pet population growing, it is important to have your pet spayed and neutered.
So that shelters do not get overwhelmed.
Pet Refuge fundraising chairperson Jessie Malone said, “We have a lot of animals that come in because of overpopulation. If we can cut that down in the community then we can get the population down and they won't be killed at shelters or turned in and not find homes."
The clinic opens on June 1.
It will offer spay and neuter operations for about $60.
