The number of people who filed for jobless benefits last week was close to a four-year low.
The Labor Department says weekly applications for unemployment benefits across the country fell 15,000 last week to a seasonally adjusted 358,000.
It's the second lowest level since April 2008.
Employers also added a net gain of 243,00 jobs in January.
Most analysts say that when applications fall below 375,000, it usually means hiring is picking up.
