Some parts of Michiana look a little brighter on Wednesday after Goshen College students took a day off from school for service.
Wednesday is the 13th annual Celebrate Service Day on Goshen's campus.
Each year, students and staff take a day to volunteer in the community with local service organizations.
Students say it is a great reminder for them to get off campus and help those in our area.
Student Stacy Majdak says, “It's so easy just to get trapped within a campus because we live there, and a lot of us work there, and we study there, so we kind of become in a bubble of college. This gets us outside of that.”
Service sites include a Habitat for Humanity build, grounds work for local schools and setting up the Michiana Relief Sale.
