Skylar Diggins is making no bones about it. She wanted a rematch with Oklahoma. She hasn't forgotten about last year's loss to the Sooners in the Sweet 16.

A year ago, Skylar Diggins was Flying high as a freshman into her first ever Sweet 16.
.
Then came Oklahoma and everything changed. Not only did the Irish lose to Oklahoma, It came in overtime.

"That loss was the worst loss of my career," Diggins says bluntly.

Even worse--Skylar says--then falling in Indiana's High School state championship game in 2009 to ben davis. That was a game billed as number one versus two in the country.

"At least we were at state (that year)," Diggins explained. "Here we left early. And i'm thinking to myself. I can't wait to next year."

The Irish used the Oklahoma loss as motivation. They refer to the loss at bad points all season. They beat Utah and Temple to get back to the Sweet 16.

Then on Tuesday, they watched on to see if their next opponent would be the Sooners.

"I was Team Oklahoma," Diggins says. "I was cheering for them to win."

"We understand this is an opportunity that not a lot of teams get. Same place in the tournament, a team that escorted you to the exit of the tournament and ended our season prematurely."

And now the irish get their chance to make it right.

"This is a revenge game for us. I think we play well when we have a chip on our shoulder," continues Diggins.

Her teammates couldn't agree more.

"We want to say i'ts another game, but in the back of our minds-- it's Oklahoma," admits Irish leading scorer Natalie Novosel. "We're excited for a rematch, can't deny that."

And this will be a rather easy pre-game speech for Coach Muffet McGraw.

"i think we'll be ready," McGraw says with a smile. "I think motivation will be a key. They ended our season last year. We'd like to do the same thing to them."

The Irish get that chance Saturday at 2:30 in Dayton.

This was destined for Dayton.
