- Elkhart County 4H Fair:
One of the biggest county fairs in the country kicks off Friday. Gates to the Elkhart County 4H Fair open at 8:30 a.m. To get the full daily schedule of events, just click on the Big Red Bar. The fair runs through next Saturday, July 31st. - Gateway Miracle Softball Marathon:
You can help your favorite team win and help a local charity at a softball marathon this weekend. The Gateway Miracle Softball Marathon is Friday and Saturday at Planggers Field in Benton Harbor. The proceeds benefit Gateway -- a non-profit group serving the disabled and disadvantaged in and around Berrien County. Several teams will be playing, including teams from Whirlpool and Knights of Columbus; spectators can bribe the umpires for runs, or make players do silly things on the bases, just by making a tax deductible donation! The first game starts at 4:30 p.m. Friday. - Dogapalooza:
- The St. Joseph County Humane Society is hosting a dogapalooza on Saturday from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. There will be a dog scavenger hunt, trick and costume contests, and more. Every dog will also get a free goodie bag. The Humane Society is located on Grape Road in Mishawaka.
- Fridays by the Fountain:
- If you're looking for a little pick-me-up during your lunch break, you can head on over to the Morris Performing Arts Center in downtown South Bend. The "Fridays by the Fountain" series offers live music from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. You can bring a sack lunch or buy food from vendors downtown. Blankets and chairs are also welcome so you can relax on the lawn. Friday’s performance is from Billy "Stix" nicks and the mo-town dance party.
