Construction work continues on the Johnson Street bridge over the St. Joseph River in Elkhart County with phase five set to begin Tuesday.
Beardsley Avenue west of the Oslo Street intersection to Cassopolis Street will be closed. Johnson Street will also be down to one lane in each direction.
This phase will allow the east half of Johnson Street to be reconstructed to its new alignment across the bridge structure. The project is expected to be complete in September.
