This weekend saw a controversial public smoking ban go into effect in the State of Michigan. A new poll conducted by our reporting partners at WSJM says around three quarters of people are in favor of it.
In the poll, the leading response was 76 percent of people saying they are a non-smoker and appreciate the new ban.
As far as what the poll told of those that do smoke and their response, only one percent said they would quit smoking. Eight percent said they would not go to the bars anymore. Four percent says they're okay with it and will simply step outside. Ten percent responded that they couldn't care either way.
