There’s been a change in plans for an Elkhart company that means some people will likely keep their jobs.
Last month Gunite Corporation announced it would close its Elkhart plant for good and layoff all of the workers there; but according to our Read-It Watch-It partners over at the Elkhart Truth, the plant will remain open.
In a letter from their parent company, Accuride Corp, it says Gunite has seen an increase in orders and must continue working in Indiana to meet customer needs.
Some of the 180 Elkhart employees will still lose their jobs and the company still plans to move some of its production to Illinois and Wisconsin plants.
