Irish basketball team returns from NYC via a bus, not plane
Notre Dame's flight back to South Bend got canceled on Saturday morning. Instead of flying back, the Irish jumped on a bus and did the long journey from New York City back home.

After six straight wins and a locked up spot for the NCAA tournament, not many things can bug the Irish men's basketball team.
Not even missing a shot in the final seconds of a game Friday night that could have sent the Irish to the Big East Finals for the very first time.
But what about this?
Notre Dame's flight back to South Bend got canceled on Saturday morning. Instead of flying back, the Irish jumped on a bus and did the long journey from New York City back home.
Oh and when the team finally did get home in the early hours of Sunday, they were greeted by daylight savings, and an extra hour loss of sleep. The journey back to South Bend began at 9am Saturday in New York. It ended just before 4am Sunday.
Even still, this is probably one happy group. At 6pm today, they will learn who and where they will play in the NCAA Tournament. There's no ifs or maybes. The Irish are in the Big Dance thanks to a remarkable run over the last three weeks.
Thank goodness that run happened. Otherwise this would not have be a fun bus ride.
