Each Labor Day Jerry Lewis hosts his annual telethon but Thursday morning a local radio station began a two day radiothon in support of America's most trusted charity.
This morning on "16 morning news" we took you live to the B-100 studios to talk with morning hosts Cody and Deb about their annual fundraiser which benefits St. Jude’s Children's Research Hospital.
This is the 14th annual event for the station which has collected nearly $3 million during that time.
Since the hospital began in 1962 the survival rate in children has gone from 4% to 95% and the Michiana community has a hand in that success.
Host Deb Miles says, “It's something we really look forward to every year - doing this radiothon not because we have to do it but because of mingling with the people, seeing all their stories, and having them come out and tell us what it means and what St. Jude as meant to them.”
Co-host Cody Austin agrees, “Whether it be with St. Jude or the tornados in Nappanee or something that's going on in Elkhart County the community really gets behind a cause and St. Jude is one of those causes.”
If you would like to donate - the radiothon runs through Friday night.
You can help out by calling 1-888-274-HOPE (4673).
