South Bend Police thought they were arresting a murder suspect. They were wrong, but, they still busted four people with drugs and a gun Wednesday afternoon.
Police originally thought a murder suspect was in a car, and when the driver didn't pull over a chase started. Police followed the car around the west side of South Bend for about five minutes before stopping the car near downtown.
The four people in the car dumped drugs and a gun during the pursuit that police recovered.
Even though a murder suspect was not involved, police say since drugs and a gun were, this will likely be handed over to ATF. The people arrested could face federal charges.
