You don't need cash to get your sweetheart something nice this Valentine's Day. All you need is just a little blood.
The South Bend Medical Foundation is giving out half a dozen roses for donors who bring in a friend to give blood.
It's that simple: if you both donate, you both get flowers.
"With the flower promotion we hope it brings out new donors," said Kay Clark-Cox of the South Bend Medical Foundation. "So you're bringing someone new into the blood center, and letting them see that donating blood is very easy, 45 minutes of their time, bring a photo ID with you, and they'll see that they can help save three lives by donating a unit of blood."
Don't like flowers? No problem. It's a giveaway bonanza at the Medical Foundation. This month, for each donor, they will donate $10 to the Haiti Earthquake Relief Fund.
Also, all donors are entered for a chance to win a vacation to the Dominican Republic.
