Thursday morning, the men of Siegfried Hall at Notre Dame ventured out in shorts, T-shirts, and sandals, despite temperatures in the 30's.
The dorm’s annual event, called “Day of Man”, aims to bring attention to those less fortunate who can't afford warm clothes, no matter how cold it gets.
Thursday morning, they shivered around campus, collecting money for the Center for the Homeless.
“As Notre Dame students, we want to say that we really do care about the community. Even though we may only go to school here, we really do have an interest in the community of South Bend and this is one of the ways we want to show it,” said Michael Dean, a Notre Dame senior.
This is the 4th year for the fundraiser. Last year, Siegfried Hall raised $5,000, and the students say they're hoping for $6,000 - $7,000 this year.
