Man convicted of stabbing Dowagiac couple nearly to death

The man accused of nearly stabbing to death a Dowagiac couple has been convicted.
41-year-old Kevin Williams was found guilty Monday of stabbing 78-year-old Robert Kirkland and his girlfriend, 50-year-old Clara Peters, last February.
Williams allegedly went to the couple's Dowagiac home to get cocaine, and when they refused, he stabbed them with their own kitchen knife.
He was later arrested in Missouri and extradited to Cass County.
Prosecutors say since his arrest, Williams has repeatedly threatened to kill his guards if he got out of jail.
Williams faces life in prison. He'll be sentenced in February.
