An expensive piece of equipment has been recovered from the pier near Silver Beach.
The South Pier Light went missing from the pier near Silver Beach more than a week ago.
It fell into the lake on December 10th when a storm battered the marker with 18 foot high waves and wind gusts of 50 knots.
According to our reporting partners at WSJM, the Michigan State Police dive team recovered the beacon on Friday.
The Coast Guard says it would be pricey to replace, so they anticipate fixing it and putting it back on the pier in the future.
