New Carlisle residents were delivered some good news Thursday about their post office, it's staying open. Thursday, people met at the New Carlisle Public Library to get the facts about the town's post office.

Representatives from Congressman Joe Donnelly's office came to answer questions about postal services. They informed the community their post office is not closing.

"There was a lot of concern that there would not be more post offices boxes for the residents in town," New Carlisle resident Paula Barreto said.

"This is a great forum to come in, talk with people and really just sort of clear up some rumors that were going around the town to make people feel more comfortable and really give them the truth," Mike Schmuhl, Field Representative for Congressman Joe Donnelly said.

New Carlisle hopes to have a follow up meeting in the next few months with Congressman Donnelly.
