There was a disturbing discovery at Notre Dame's baseball stadium Monday. Vandals apparently wrote racial slurs in the grass at Frank Eck Stadium.
The inside of the stadium was closed off to NewsCenter 16 cameras Monday.
The grounds crew found the vandalism. Notre Dame officials say it's unclear how the letters were written into the grass but they were 8 to 10 feet in length. They believe the racial slurs were written sometime in the last two weeks.
University spokesman, Dennis Brown, issued a statement about the incident.
"This act has no place on our campus or in our society. We find it abhorrent and will fully investigate,” Brown said.
