A mother dies just feet from her children after a crash in Marshall County. Thirty-two-year-old Heather Mattern of Nappanee died at the scene injuries sustained in the crash
About 4:21 p.m. Monday, a car collided with a semi at intersection of S.R. 331 and 5th Road in Bremen. Mattern’s car was going northbound on 331 when it crossed the center line and hit the semi.
Her two children were taken to Bremen Community Hospital, treated for minor injuries and released to family members.
Mattern and her children were returning from seeing family in Illinois.
