A Plymouth factory is still burning nearly 24 hours after firefighters rushed to the scene on Thanksgiving night.
A fire broke out at the U.S. Granules plant in Plymouth around 7:30 Thursday night.
Crews from Plymouth, Bremen, LaPaz, and Argos were called to the plant in the 1400 block of Western Avenue on reports of a commercial fire.
The blaze started in a small shed connected to the plant, then spread to the plant itself.
Crews on the scene said they weren't able to put out the fire with water because of the way it burns on aluminum.
After several attempts to use sand to put out the fire, crews had several small pockets of flames under control, but had to remain on scene as the fires burnt themselves out completely.
According to the company website, U.S. Granules makes aluminum granules for explosives, drain cleaner, and other products.
