Utilimaster in Wakarusa sold to Michigan's Spartan Motors
Wakarusa, IN A Wakarusa company is now under the umbrella of a Michigan company.

A Wakarusa company is now under the umbrella of a Michigan company.
According to our reporting partners at The Elkhart Truth Utilimaster announced Thursday it will be sold to Spartan Motors out of Charlotte, Michigan.
The $45 million sale is expected to add about $105 million in revenue to Spartan. Utilimaster officials say that together, the companies will be stronger.
550 people are employed at the Wakarusa factory, which makes specialty vehicles, including hybrid trucks.
