Police say a LaPorte County teen is dead after he hanged himself in the Michigan City jail.
Indiana State Police say the 17-year-old was found hanging in his cell Wednesday night.
He apparently used the string on his athletic shorts.
Police do not suspect foul play, but say the boy had been in trouble before and was going back to the Juvenile Services Center before he died.
