One pint of blood equaled up to five quarts of oil in South Bend on Saturday.
That's because Midas partnered up with the South Bend Medical Foundation to give out free oil changes, vehicle inspections, and tire rotations to blood donors.
One employee says she wanted to give back to a community that has given them so much.
"A few of my family members have cancer, or have had cancer, and needed that life-saving blood. So I am a true believer in giving blood,” said Teena Abbiehl, Midas employee. “But just as an employee of Midas, it's just that we feel great to be helping our community and helping people that are really, truly in need."
Midas also held a contest for donors to win free tires.
