It was somber morning in Plymouth on Saturday.
Hundreds came out to wave flags and pay their respects to a fallen soldier who graduated from Plymouth High School.
32-year-old Staff Sergeant Justin Decrow was laid to rest at New Oakhill Cemetery Saturday afternoon. He was killed at Ft. Hood last week.
There was an impressive turn-out in Plymouth. The city basically was at a standstill when the procession rolled through.
"Plymouth is just like that. It was like he was just one of us. He graduated from Plymouth High School and my kids did too. So it seems only right," says Jane Emery who wanted to bring her grandkids to the procession.
Around 11-30 Saturday morning a formal military escort made its way from the funeral home to the church in Plymouth.
There were hundreds of people who lined the streets to wave flags and say good-bye. Most of them were families that didn't know him but felt they needed to show their respect.
"We have a lot of family in the military and you know it was for them too, it is like a family. Once you have someone in the military you feel connected to all of them,” says Plymouth resident Carol Schaefer.
DeCrow married his high school sweetheart from Plymouth. Most of his family is still from the area. He leaves behind a 13-year-old daughter.
Decrow has been a member of the military for the past 13 years. He was recently re-located to Ft. Hood in September and was going to be deployed to Iraq.
