Forget the fact that he broke the law. The issue here is the fact that men who are in prison or jail are to be counted a couple times a day to MAKE SURE of where they are. Guards are getting fired and i think that's exactly what should happen. 12 hours in a jail cell with no one looking or wondering where you are is a disgrace.. It's a shame that our tax money goes to build big prisons and then they put guards in there who can't do their job!

Most of the comments in favor of the jail are probably coming from administrative staff attempting to appeal to the citizens and divert attention from their wrongs by hiding behind Scott's OWI. Always holding others to a standard you cannot meet.

Once again an example of what happens when you waste 100 million dollars on a jail tha is so big you cant even manage it....trust me there are alot more "horor stories"from where that came from..Books just covers them up!.........looks like he missed one here, now time for some damage control!

He was doing community services which means he likely should be in jail anyhow. I wouldn't give him 12 hours of credit for it, he wasn't doing anything but sitting in a jail cell, that's not community service. LOL

Yes he broke the law but the law should of known his where a bouts. The system always seems to amaze me! They are being paid to protect and serve. Not treat people like they do most of the time.

Welcome to the Elkhart county Graybar hotel! It's like the song "Hotel California". You can checkout any time you like, but you can never leave! He's lucky. He could be stuck in a public school in South Bend. Can you imagine what would have happened to him then? What a scary thought. I do like the panic buttons in cells. Teachers in the SBCSC need them in all classrooms.

Why would they look for him? They were trying to take pictures of his girlfriend when she showed up!

Panic buttons in the cells? Put down the pipe kid. He should get credit for the 12 hrs. nothing more.

This is a story about a failed CS system within the jail, not why he was in there. He should get those 12 extra hours towards his CS, at least.

The poor guilty law breaker. Lets get the media to print my sob story so I can attract a Lawyer off of a phone book cover to sue the County. Its alright that I endangered lives by driving drunk and broke the law. Wake up!!!! Too many "what if's". You are already costing the tax payers too much money. GO AWAY!
