It's been an up and down week for jobs here in Michiana.

Earlier in the week, many of the counties in our area saw drastic drops in unemployment, a sign that things could be turning around for one of the nation's most hard-hit regions.

A LaGrange County RV company is looking to hire. After a tough year, Crossroads in Topeka is hiring 125 new workers.

The company has turned a corner, changing its ways after the bigger, less eco-friendly RVs of the past fell out of favor due to high gas prices.

They're now making smaller, lighter RVs, and demand is on the way up.

Meantime, Notre Dame is riding the wave of the future and hoping to bring more jobs along for the ride.

Friday, the first business officially opened at Innovation Park, south of campus.

Students are leading the way in this venture, testing new technologies that will hopefully lead to job creation.

More businesses are on the way, but there was also bad news this week for the Michiana job market.

South Bend's Mohawk Flush Doors announced Friday they'll close their doors for good next year.

Work will be moved to other factories as the struggling housing market has driven down demand for new doors.

73 jobs will be lost.
