More than 25,000 fans are in Buchanan for the 36th RedBud National Motocross races on Saturday.

The pros will dazzle the giant crowd all day long on the 4th of July in the biggest motocross event each year in the country.

Many of those pros got their start riding cobra bikes as little kids.

Friday night, the "Stars of Tomorrow" took over the track at RedBud to show off their skills in front of the large crowd.

Among those riding were 8-year-old Jacob Beebe of South Bend and 8-year-old Coby Dean of North Liberty.

"It was pretty cool," Dean said after being out in front of the big crowd. "Sometimes when I was turning, I was popping wheelies."

"It's fun and very cool and everything."

Sean Hilbert is the President of Cobra Motorcycles and says it was by design to bring the kids to RedBud to give them extra exposure.

"One of the reasons we decided to do this was to let the little guys shine a little bit in front of a crowd they normally don't get a chance to shine in front of," Hilbert explains.

"There's a lot of fans here for the race this weekend. Most of the time these kids are racing in front of brothers and sisters, moms and dads, and grandma and grandpa. But they got a chance to show their stuff off a little bit this week."

For Colby, he's now pumped for the RedBud pro races, including his first chance to see AMA legend Ricky Carmichael for the first time.

Carmichael retired in 2007 after winning 8 Motocross outdoor championships and is now a part of the Nascar Truck Series, but he's returning to RedBud Saturday to be a part of a special celebrity exhibition.

Practices and Qualifying begin at 8:30 Saturday morning with the main races starting at 1pm.
