Some Michiana kids are on a military mission of their own this week, because Camp Eberhart is hosting its "Operation: Purple" summer camp.
The free camp is for kids of deployed or about to be deployed military personnel, ages 6 through 16.
Kids get to ski, sail, create arts and crafts, and ride horses - all while learning coping skills with others who know what they are going through.
"This gives them an opportunity to find other, meet other children and get to know other children who are going through the same issues that they are going through," said Brice Emanuel, executive director.
"Operation: Purple" runs through the weekend.
