A run is common around St. Joseph County but what about across the country?
A young woman is running across the U.S. to raise awareness about her "pave your lane'" campaign.
The Boston resident is on her way to San Diego but swinging through the South Bend area this weekend.
24-year-Old Katie Visco is running 32 hundred miles this year.
She wants to inspire people to follow their life passion. She is stopping at schools along her run to talk with students and raise money for the "Girls On The Run" charity.
It's a national organization that aims to help women gain self-esteem and confidence through after-school running programs.
“The message is to follow your passion, follow your dreams and what I mean by that is exactly what I'm doing here. I'm following those things that give me life. I'm following the passion I have for running and inspiring people,” explains Visco.
Visco runs about 20 miles a day. She has a friend follow her in a van.
Typically they stay with host families who have volunteered to help them along their journey.
