History buffs, start your engines! The Indy 500 has pulled in to the Studebaker Museum.

Five Studebaker cars raced in the 1932 Indianapolis 500, and one of them is now on display at the museum.

The number 18 car finished 12th in the race with Peter Kreis driving.

Kreis was 6th, but the car blew a tire and hit the wall on the south turn with only 20 miles to go.

Studebaker Museum officials are excited about the exhibit.

They say that, believe it or not, this car still competes.

"It's such a unique piece of Studebaker history, and a strong tie also to Indiana and the racing community. We felt this was a tremendous time to display this car," explained Andrew Beckman. "He still races this car. The number 18 car was restored in the early 1980s and it has been actively campaigned since then in the vintage racing circuit. In fact, after Indianapolis he's going up for an event at the Milwaukee Mile in Milwaukee, Wisconsin."

This Indy car is a two-seater because, in 1932, all Indy racers held a driver and mechanic during the race.
