Lincoln Charter Township Fire Chief Ron Burkett will be suspended for two weeks without pay and serve one year of zero-tolerance probation after he made an inappropriate comment during a fire department training session last month.
That's according to our news gathering partners at WSJM.
The township Board of Trustees approved the disciplinary action recommended by the fire board.
The Board also recommended diversity training for all firefighters, but supervisor Dick Stauffer says trustees will extend the training for all township employees.
Members of the Lincoln Township Fire Department attended the meeting in support of Burkett.
Stauffer said the Chief expressed sincere regret over the incident and he says situations like this are difficult to deal with.
