Police didn't have to go far to track down a burglar in St. Joseph County.
They found him walking down the street with his loot.
Twenty-eight-year-old James Sommers of Osceola faces charges tonight after admitting to committing a burglary Wednesday morning at a home in the 10000-block of Douglas Road.
St. Joseph County police say it all started when they received an alarm call.
At the same time, Elkhart County police got a suspicious person call near Douglas and Ash Roads.
That is when an officer spotted Sommers walking down the street with a jewelry box and crowbar in his arms.
Sommers admitted to police that he forced his way into the home on Douglas and stole the jewelry box.
The house was even alarmed and had a huge ADT sign near the front door.
