ND student recovering after being shot in the arm
Police say the student was heavily intoxicated and she thought she was knocking on the door of her home. She lives in the same block. The shooter, a 28-year-old man, told police he heard a lot of pounding on his door.

A Notre Dame student is recovering after being shot Tuesday morning---while trying to enter her neighbor's house.
South Bend police say the 23-year-old woman was on her way home from Club 23 when she was shot in the arm.
It happened on the porch of a home on East Miner Street.
Police say the student was heavily intoxicated and she thought she was knocking on the door of her home. She lives in the same block.
The shooter, a 28-year-old man, told police he heard a lot of pounding on his door.
When the woman would not go away, he shot through the door.
The victim's injuries are not life threatening.
Police say no one was arrested.
