An Elkhart man -- who was mauled by his own dog about two weeks ago -- was released from the hospital Tuesday.
A friend tells NewsCenter 16 that during his stay, Scott Sands underwent surgery every 48-hours to repair deep wounds to both arms.
Although a possible amputation of one arm was contemplated, that did not happen.
The friend says Sands can now lift both arms, and move his fingers enough to feed himself.
The dog attacked happened at Sands' apartment.
During the attack, Sands called out to his landlord for help, and the landlord called police.
