A Democratic Senator and Republican Congressman are teaming up to give embattled Turkish immigrant Ibrahim Parlak permanent US residency.
Michigan Senator Carl Levin and Congressman Fred Upton introduced bills in both the Senate and the House pushing for Parlak's residency.
Ibrahim Parlak has lived in the United States since 1991 -- he was arrested in 2004 for alleged ties to terrorism.
In a press release Wednesday, Upton said that Parlak and his family have gone through enough, and deserve the right to a normal life without worrying about being arrested or deported.
