Mishawaka was alive with blues music Saturday night.

The "Elwood Splinters Blues Band" recorded a live CD at Midway Tavern Saturday night in Mishawaka. The CD was recorded by West Wind Studio and celebrates the band's 20th anniversary.

The band believes with a tough economy the blues have been making a comeback.

“When they come here they will get picked up and the blues like our music bring you up and bring you down and then will set it home, right to your heart and soul,” said lead vocalist Harvey Stauffer.

There are six members of the band. So far they've recorded three others CDs and a cassette.

I was there Saturday night and what a great crowd to hear a terrific band! Elwood Splinters Blues Band has a great mixture of instruments and of course Harv pulling it together with his great voice. I can't wait to hear them next weekend and at future venues. Congrats ESBB and keep it up!

Thanks Steve and Rabid Irish Fan. We had a great time playing at the Midway. It's a legendary venue making it a perfect place to celebrate 20 years. We appreciate all of the fans that came out. I am told it was a record crowd. The CD and our shows are nothing without the great people that come and listen to us. HAPPY NEW YEAR --ROB HUNTER-- Drummer ESBB

I also saw the show at the Midway, great room. I have been a fan of ESBB for over 10 years, a great group of guys. We made our reservation for the CD launch party in March, do the same soon to get a good table.
