Michigan lawmakers meet Monday to hash over rules and regulations for medical marijuana.
Voters overwhelmingly gave a "thumbs up" to medical pot in November. It allows patients to buy, grow and use small amounts of marijuana -- with a doctor's prescription.
The law took effect in December, but the Department of Community Health has 120 days to issue regulations for a medical marijuana registry.
Michigan is the first state in the Midwest to legalize the drug for medical use.
The program officially begins April 4th.
