At 11:30 a.m. Saturday, power was restored to the majority of KREMC members impacted by an outage earlier in the morning. Approximately 1,500 members were without power.
The outage was a result of an outage at the Kralis substation, due to feed problems from NIPSCO. Crews worked to restore power, and service has been restored to the impacted members.
Earlier Saturday morning, an additional 1,200 members were impacted by an outage at the Claypool substation, but their power was restored.
KREMC reminds everyone to treat all downed and hanging lines as if they are active electric lines: stay away, warn others to stay away, and immediately contact KREMC or their electric provider.
